    Sjogren's i can't tolerate plaquenil

In Sjögren’s, Plaquenil is used to treat many symptoms of Sjögren’s including fatigue, joint symptoms of arthritis and arthralgias (joint pain), dry mouth and dry eyes. Similar to its use in systemic lupus erythematosus, many clinicians feel that it is useful in reducing general Sjögren’s “disease activity.” One of the reasons that physicians feel comfortable in prescribing Plaquenil is its low risk to benefit ratio.

Can you take nyquil with hydroxychloroquine Does hydroxychloroquine interact with levothryoxine Iupac name of chloroquine

The Plaquenil dreams are much more bizarre. They involve people and places I don't know, they are recurrrent, one in particular I'll have the smell and taste of something cloyingly sweet in my mouth and I can smell it nut I can't identify it, and the situations are very strange, nonsensical and usually dangerous. I've done well with plaquinel, however my SLE and scleroderma symptoms are my main issues. With Sjogrens I've just got antibodies and dry eyes. I've also had next to nothing in terms of side effects that I've noticed and many people have been on plaquinel for years with nothing notable while others can't tolerate it. YMMV. I have Sjogren's and I have all of the symptoms that you describe. i also just devloped cfids. i've had sjogrens since 2002 I take Plaquenil because they used to think that I had Lupus they don't prescribe Plaquenil for Sjogren's Surprisingly, it made my dry eye, dry mouth and constipation much better.

As with any medication, allergic reactions including skin rashes and non-allergic reactions can occur. This means that the side effects of Plaquenil are mild and infrequent compared with its potential benefits.

  3. NO markers for Sjogrens. deleted_user 07/22/2013. and two tell me that I DO have Sjogren's. Plaquenil made me sick as well, and I can't tolerate Evoxac or Lyrica. I do tolerate Restasis, which helps somewhat. I have found all the rheumatologists to be less than helpful - they act as if I am complaining about nothing, and you can see their.

Rheumatologists love to prescribe plaquenil for people who have either Sjogren's, or Lupus. It is apparently kind of a wonder-drug for Lupus, in that it actually prevents flares in the majority, or a large percentage, of people. It doesn't do that for Sjogren's, but they don't know what it does do, so they like to give it to you and see what. Hi Terri I'm really sorry you couldn't tolerate the Plaquenil. There have been others who have had the same problem. I believe some people have gone on to try another kind of anti-malarial, because that is what Plaquenil is - but I can't for the life of me think of the other names/names. Hi Xtina333-I have sjogrens, was diagnosed with the positive ana and the ssa and ssb tests. I am taking plaquenil for joint pain and stiffness, fatigue, neuropathy and many other symptoms I will not even mention here, too many, too boring!
